SiteKeeper alternatives and honest comparisons
SiteKeeper is a Chrome extension. It tracks the active tab, sets daily and weekly limits, and scores the day from 0 to 100. The block is soft: you can add time or turn the limit off. It does not track desktop apps, it has no phone app, and it will not stop you from disabling it. The pages below say where RescueTime, StayFocusd, BlockSite, LeechBlock NG, and Cold Turkey are the better tool.
Competitor figures checked October 3, 2026.
Alternative pages
Chrome website time plus standing caps
RescueTime alternative
Automatic tracking of the active tab, with daily and weekly limits. RescueTime still fits desktop apps, phone time, and timesheets.
Browser-only tracking and limits
RescueTime Extension alternative
For Chromebooks, Linux, and locked-down PCs: track the active tab and cap sites in one extension, with no account required to start.
Daily caps plus a full site log
StayFocusd alternative
Per-site limits with tracking on every site, path stats, and a 0–100 score. StayFocusd still fits a Nuclear lock and in-page hiding.
See the time, then cap the site
BlockSite alternative
A tracking-first alternative to a mass-market blocker: daily and weekly caps and a productivity score. Annual Pro and Lifetime cost less than BlockSite’s published prices. No password and no phone app.
A simpler log than a 30-set rule engine
LeechBlock NG alternative
LeechBlock NG is the stronger free, open-source blocker. SiteKeeper adds an automatic dashboard, tags, a productivity score, and path analysis.
Insight and a soft cap, not a fortress
Cold Turkey alternative
For Chrome on Chromebooks, Linux, and work laptops where a desktop lock cannot be installed. Cold Turkey remains the harder system-wide block on Windows and Mac.
Head-to-head comparisons
StayFocusd vs BlockSite on locks, schedules, tracking, and price — plus SiteKeeper if you want a time log and a soft cap instead.
